Do not drink tap water without boiling it first if you are served by the Village of Fox Crossing water utility — this is narrower than "all of Menasha and Fox Crossing." Check the interactive map or your water bill if unsure.
This affects specific customers, not entire cities: the Village of Fox Crossing east of the Fox River; City of Menasha residents served by the Fox Crossing water utility; City of Appleton residents served by the Fox Crossing water utility; and Village of Harrison residents served by the Fox Crossing water utility.
Bring water to a rolling boil for one full minute, then let it cool. Store it covered in a clean container.
Bottled water is safe and needs no treatment.
Boil or use bottled water for: drinking, ice, brushing teeth, washing produce, cooking, baby formula, and pet water.
Tap water is fine for showering, bathing (avoid swallowing), handwashing with soap, and laundry.
Please use less water overall — the affected system is drawing from Neenah's while local plants are down.
Keep boiling until officials announce the advisory is lifted publicly. No one will call you or hang a notice on your door.

Stay off the streets overnight. Streetlights are out and downed lines, gas leaks and debris make being outside after dark genuinely dangerous.
Be indoors between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless you have an emergency.
If you must go out for a medical emergency, call 911 first — do not simply drive into a dark damage zone.
Do not walk or drive through damaged blocks after dark. Streetlights are out and downed conductors are invisible at night.
The curfew also gives utility and rescue crews room to work without traffic.
If you are displaced and have nowhere to be by 10 p.m., go to the shelter at Christ the Rock Community Church, W6254 US-10.

Treat every downed wire as live All communities
Assume any fallen line is energized, even if it is not sparking, humming or moving.
Stay at least 35 feet away and keep children and pets back.
Never drive over a downed line, and never try to move one with a stick, rope or anything else.
If a line falls on your car while you are inside, stay in the car and call 911. Only get out if it catches fire — and if you must, jump clear with both feet together, never touching car and ground at once, then shuffle away.
Treat every intersection with a dark traffic signal as a four-way stop.
Report downed lines to We Energies at 800-662-4797, or 911 if someone is in immediate danger.

Do not burn storm debris, brush or yard waste outdoors in Neenah, Menasha or the Village of Fox Crossing.
